What's your business, and who are your customers?
Zeus is a technology company founded in 2016 that specializes in data analysis and management that helps companies turn information into knowledge through business dashboards. The focus of our projects is people and how data can help them make better decisions and be more agile and productive. We offer a tailor-made solution 100% adapted to the needs of each company, which helps to monitor, manage and visualize data in real-time through Command Centers. A way of consuming data in a very attractive and understandable visual form, helping to reduce analysis times, optimize management, anticipate decision-making and empower teams.
Our clients are companies of any size and sector that have the need to take data management a step further. Companies that closely monitor the governance and quality of information, but the high volume of data makes this task really complex.
Tell us about yourself
The founder and visionary of the business is Albert Soriano. A leading entrepreneur in the technology sector, both in Valencia and nationally. He founded his first company at the age of 16, and since then, he has created many projects, always related to software development.
I studied journalism, and a few years ago, I made a career change and entered the world of digital marketing, big data, and dashboards at Zeus. Today I am the COO at Zeus, and the truth is that it is incredible to work in the technology sector; every day is a new learning experience, surrounded by a super involved team and in an environment such as La Marina of Valencia, which is becoming a technological and innovative hub of national and international reference.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Over the years, there have been many challenges and difficulties along the way. Running a company is not easy: managing clients, expanding the business, managing the company’s growth, and managing the teams. However, Albert was very clear about one thing from the beginning: success is achieved by surrounding yourself with a great team, people with whom you can share, celebrate and achieve your dreams. As a result, today, we have become one of the leading companies in the field of data monitoring and visualization.
The group started as a digital marketing and web development company 18 years ago, and since then, many projects have emerged. Today, we are two companies: Zeus and Sesame HR, an HR software that digitizes processes and reinvents the work experience of teams.
We moved from an office in the center of Valencia to a place of more than 3.000 square meters in La Marina of Valencia, and in just 1 year, we have gone from 80 employees to more than 250, and we keep growing. A dream has come true, working in an office in front of the sea, with an unstoppable team and with many challenges ahead.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I would say that one of the hardest things is team management. When you are a small company with a team of few people, it is easier to detect if, for example, someone is unmotivated or if they are not happy with the project. However, when you have a team of 250 people, things get more complicated.
On the one hand, as a company, the fact of facing quick growth (instilling your values as a company, your philosophy…) and, on the other hand, the fact that people feel identified with that philosophy, that the project fits them, and that there is that “match.”
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Every project is different, of course. However, I do think it is crucial to be surrounded by a great team. Having people by your side who contribute, professionally and personally.
On the other hand, perseverance. A business is full of ups and downs, and you have to know how to be and react in the good times, but above all, in the bad times, especially when you have people in your charge.
Finally, enjoy and relish each stage. Along the way, you’ll have a lot of experiences and meet a lot of people… and when you look back, you realize that people are capable of achieving a lot of things with hard work, commitment, and the best of smiles.
