What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help individuals, teams, and company cultures work more effectively through better communication, greater accountability, and compassion.

Tell us about yourself

I discovered the power of mindful leadership when I was the director of a Zen monastery. I then got an MBA degree and have been CEO of 3 companies. I helped develop a mindful leadership program inside Google's headquarters. I'm passionate about bringing more awareness and appreciation to the world of leadership and work.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My accomplishments have been in transforming lives and work cultures - to shift toward greater effectiveness, trust, and accountability.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being a CEO/business owner can be lonely and isolating. I've found it essential to get lots of support from coaches, therapists, and peers.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start with self-awareness.
  2. Get lots of support.
  3. Aim high, especially in the realm of joy and appreciation.
