Tell us about yourself
Maggie Rose Macar is the founder and CEO of zant. After losing a close friend to suicide at 19 and having difficulty coping- she eventually found a provider willing to see her for only $10 per session. This changed her life and allowed her to take her grief as fuel and passion for helping those suffering. zant offers over 25 specialty services to those in need across the nation with affordable rates, free first consultations, easy-to-use scheduling, and so much more to eliminate the barriers to entry for those who need support.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As an entrepreneur, having a successful launch and utilizing traction and momentum for scale is one of my most significant accomplishments. I have had the privilege to lead for zant.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
As a business owner, wearing many hats comes with the role. There is this idea that those hats eventually come off, and in many ways, they get delegated differently. Still, the responsibility of leading your team, optimizing growth, and keeping yourself focused on your vision can seem like some of the most complex parts of your business owner role- but it is also the greatest gift.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Always trust your gut, it sounds very cliché, but you will grow to trust your gut feelings, and they're usually right.
- While it's not always a good idea to go into business with friends, as a leader, you need to be vulnerable with your team. You can find some of the most incredible people who can become your friend as you grow on an astonishing journey like this. Being vulnerable with your team prevents the feeling of 'being lonely at the top.'
- Always treat money as if you have none, and challenge yourself to stretch a dollar as far as possible it teaches your team how to do so much with so little so you can do so much more in the long run.
