What's your business, and who are your customers?
I type words and sell them. Sometimes, those words are funny, and
most of the time, they are only funny to me. My customers are people who pay enormous sums to use these words for various purposes, from video games to websites, from best man speeches to breakups.
Tell us about yourself
My name is Zachary Ignoffo, or as my associates call me, "Hand Shakespeare," because my writing leads to deals. I was born on April 23rd, the same day Shakespeare was born and died. I then went on to score a 35 on the English portion of my ACT, just like Shakespeare did. And later, when the Black Plague destroyed my acting career, the same age as when it happened to Shakespeare's acting career, I dedicated my life to the craft of writing. Coincidence? I think not. Presumptuous? Oh yes.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I was propositioned to write the plot for an NFT Web3 crypto blockchain VR AI video game that synced with your phone to track your steps, a true story. After they explained the concept, I asked, "Is it the lowest score wins?" Boom. That was a real highlight.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Working on projects with Gen Z -- the only timelines you kids pay attention to are on true crime documentaries. Come prove me wrong, though, because I'm hiring.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Do something you enjoy, even if you're not getting paid for it at first.
- Doers do -- Literally, put themselves in every situation to succeed.
