Overcome Self-doubt and Fear - You Do You Coaching

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Judy Morley, Founder of You Do You Coaching, located in Gettysburg, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I coach leaders, particularly women and entrepreneurs, to find their purpose and create their lives around that. When people live from their goals, they have more confidence in their decisions and more control over all aspects of their lives.

Tell us about yourself

I have been in the personal development field for over 20 years. It started in 1998, when I survived stage IV lymphoma. I wanted to help others find the mind-body connection that saved my life, so I became a health and wellness coach.

In 2013, I switched from health and wellness coaching to leadership coaching after holding several high-level leadership positions and seeing how necessary it is to teach leaders crucial skills. I am still motivated daily to help people understand themselves better so they can have deeper relationships and be more effective in all areas of their lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I just completed the manuscript for my third book, so my books would be my biggest accomplishment. They help people overcome adversity, navigate change, and master conflict.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Isolation is one of the hardest things I face. It's easy to feel like I need to do more or do the right things when I'm alone in my office. There's also chronic uncertainty about money in the first years of a business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

First, be super-clear on your purpose. Don't just start a business to make money. It has to be a calling because it will consume your life.

Second, stay at 35,000 feet. Don't get bogged down in the day-to-day operations. It's hard, especially in the early stages, but the job of an entrepreneur is to hold the vision, not change the light bulbs.

Third, assemble the best team possible. Even if you don't have employees, find supporters or contract with people to do the tasks you don't want.
