What's your business, and who are your customers?

My company is YOGAFIT TRAINING SYSTEMS WORLDWIDE - the world's largest Yoga/Mind Body School. For over 25 years, we have taught people to take control of their physical and mental health, instructed people how to teach yoga and meditation, and empowered millions on their health journey.

Tell us about yourself

I have been meditating since age 6, working out in health clubs since age 15 and studying psychology since high school, and studying nutrition since college. I started YOGAFIT out of my living room in the mid-nineties because there was a need for yoga instructors and the only schools were in residence for months. There was a need for safe, effective fitness yoga, and YOGAFIT filled it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I am the author of four books by major publishers, the founder of YOGAFIT, a business that has operated successfully for 25 years, and the Host of the Make America Healthy Radio show on Voice America; I am also an international presenter for health and wellness.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being a boss is often a thankless job, being responsible for growing the business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Know your customer, start small and scale.
