What's your business, and who are your customers?

Yesteeyear focuses on history-inspired clothing and home decor. Our customers have a passion for history and love to show it off.

Tell us about yourself

I have always loved to read about historical events and people. While I was listening to history podcasts, I would think about how some of the topics would make a neat shirt design. In 2010, I was a stay-at-home dad of four great kids and wanted to find some way to blend my passion for history and design while keeping up with my kids. My children are definitely my motivation, and letting them see how you can turn your passion into a successful business is important.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

From starting as just a little hobby to creating a full-time job that still excites and challenges me is a great accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

After many ups and downs over the years, I think one of the hardest things is to stay consistent and keep putting in the work that needs to get done.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My father always told me that you want to delight your customers and offer them a great experience dealing with you and your products or services. That is something that I think everyone should remember. Always be consistent! When you keep doing the little things, they start to add up, and you'd be surprised at how far they go. Stick to your vision and keep moving forward.
