Personalized Virtual Support - wrksourcing
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Tyler Cameron, Founder and CEO of wrksourcing, located in Oakville, ON, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
wrksourcing is your trusted virtual assistant and workflow partner specializing in administrative, sales, and marketing tasks and process automation. We support entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized businesses.
Tell us about yourself
I am, first and foremost, a Dad. I started in the virtual assistant space four years ago when I founded DadSourcing, a concierge service for Dads aimed to help them live a healthier and happier life. I created the company as I knew there had to be an "easier" way to live, and outsourcing was key to solving this problem. If more busy individuals used virtual assistants to outsource their mundane personal tasks, they would be able to spend more time with their family and friends.
This transferred over to wrksourcing, as I now also help entrepreneurs and SMBs take admin, sales, and marketing tasks off their plates so they can focus on growing their businesses. I am extremely passionate about helping businesses grow. As an entrepreneur myself that was raised in a household of small business owners, I know how difficult it can be.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is launching and growing wrksourcing during a Global pandemic.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
It's lonely. If you don't have a great support network in your personal and business life, it can drain you. I'm fortunate to help both now, but that was after making a concentrated effort to grow the right type of support network over the past couple of years.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Mentally Prepare Yourself - This will be the hardest thing you do (... by a lot), so ensure you have that support group in place prior to beginning to support you mentally and emotionally along the way.
- Business Plan - Sounds basic, but I've talked to a lot of business owners who have yet to complete a thorough business plan. It's here where a lot of questions are answered.
- Processes, Processes, and more Processes - I know it sounds boring, but if you don't have a certain level of process and workflows built out, you'll constantly struggle with every aspect of your business. I love this James Clear quote that highlights the importance of this, "You do not rise to the level of your goals; you fall to the level of your systems."
