What's your business, and who are your customers?

Since 1990, Working Wardrobes has made an indelible mark in the lives of our clients and in the community. We do everything in our power to help men, women, young adults, and Veterans overcome complex challenges so they can achieve the dignity of work and The Power of a Paycheck™. Our goal is to positively impact our collective way of life from economic, emotional, and environmental perspectives.

Tell us about yourself

I am committed to putting my strengths to work by being of service to the community. I developed a great love and respect for research and data-based decision-making when earning my master’s degree in Family Resources and Human Development.

For my over 25 years of leadership experience in government and non-profit agencies. Following Founder and 31-year CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Jerri Rosen’s retirement, I became Working Wardrobes’ second-ever CEO in January 2022. In addition to developing and leading high-performing teams, engaging different stakeholders, and delivering quantifiable outcomes, I love to create and implement strategic plans and sustainable processes.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My research- and strengths-based leadership approach has resulted in the national accreditation of centers, turning around budgets from shortfalls to surpluses, and retaining high-quality employees by creating and implementing performance-based pay systems. In partnership with board members and volunteers, I have secured over $6 million in capital campaign funds and $1 million from events and annual giving.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Working Wardrobes would be sustainable for the organization.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My personal guiding principle is an incredibly motivating quote from Maya Angelou "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
