Women Who Win - Toni Chowdhury
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching, but not sure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Toni Chowdhury, the founder of Women Who Win with Toni Chowdhury, an online business coach for women.
Tell us all about your business...
I help high achieving women with creative hobbies build, launch and grow their creative hobby into a profitable business with their right-fit clients so that they can stop chasing shiny objects and build the business of their dreams.
What's your background and motivation to grow as a business owner?
What first got me started was just the need for an extra income as I was an immigrant and a struggling single parent with no financial or family support. But soon after I started my first business, it became a passion.
I love helping women find and chase their dreams so that they can be role models to their families. Women must understand that they have the right to do what their heart desires alongside taking care of loved ones, working a day job, running a household and so on.
As an entrepreneur, what does success ultimately mean to you?
My biggest accomplishment has been to help hundreds of men and women identify their potential and motivate them to follow their dreams, no matter what they are.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being an entrepreneur?
One of the hardest things that comes with entrepreneurship is to stay motivated when things are rough. Things are bound to be hard from time to time, especially when someone is just starting out.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a small business today?
The top three things would be to have a clear vision on why someone wants to start a business. Making money or quitting your job is a good reason to start but there are other deeper reasons, for example, to have freedom of choice and location, etc.
The second thing is to identify your values and belief system so you can find clients who are aligned with yourself. Working with people you aren't aligned with you isn't fun at all and it can impact you and your business negatively.
Another tip for startup business owners is to learn about marketing from day 1. Most new business owners aren't open to learning how to market their businesses properly and that is a critical skill for anyone to stay in business, regardless of the size or the industry.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Behind every successful business is vision, foresight, hustle and a lot of patience. Having a business is not just about your own freedom but it's also helping others find theirs.
As entrepreneurs, we have to be aware of the huge responsibility we carry and that means we must always operate from a place of integrity and authenticity. We must make it our mission to leave the world a better place with our products and services.
