What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are an impact-first brand marketing and public relations company led by women of colour who have collectively worked with and for social purpose organizations for over 30 years. A rare breed in the creative space, we elevate the voice and agency of women and people of colour to help social purpose organizations do good work better and create brand experiences that ensure no person feels unseen, unheard, or unvalued.
Tell us about yourself
I am a communications professional with over ten years of experience in strategic communications planning and brand management for change-making organizations. I've always been passionate about creating positive change – including in the people and places I've touched. I'm motivated by the knowledge that things can be better and that the pursuit of trying is worth it.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Making my clients and collaborators feel understood and inspired by the work we create together.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
How to balance your energy.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be very clear about your why.
- Assume you know nothing and test your assumptions often.
- Take the time to build a brain trust of a few select people who can help guide you and fill the gaps of knowledge that might exist in your leadership.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Clients come to us because we work fast. We ask the right questions. We push them to think critically about what they are doing, for whom, and why, and stay because we are equally invested in their vision for the future.
