What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Wishes Candle Co. Our main product is all-natural soy candles free of harmful ingredients with a free hidden pin inside of the wax! My customers are all kids at heart that not only shop our products for their safety and fun but the way that our candles scent transforms their homes into some of their favorite vacation locations and memories!
Tell us about yourself
I am a young female entrepreneur located in Rhode Island. I am the daughter, niece, and granddaughter of many successful businessmen and women who has played a big role in inspiring me to pursue what makes me happy and how to thrive in the world of business! While running the business, I continued to pursue and achieve both my Bachelor's degree in Political Science/Philosophy and my Juris Doctor of Law. What motivates me most each day is the passion I have for not only business in general but my product and the relationship with our amazing customers through our large social media presence.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has certainly been achieving love and respect from customers all over the world.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is adaptability. So many aspects of business are changing every day, especially now with the unforeseen effects of the pandemic. These aspects include reaching markets, supply chain, and so much more. Change can be hard, but the more willing you are to learn new avenues and how to change with the environment, the more your business can thrive.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Practice gratitude every step of the way.
- Knowledge is power, and with the internet, resources are endless. Take the time to do research because everything you need to learn is at your fingertips if you just apply yourself.
- In a direct-to-consumer business, the more you know your product then, the better relationship you can have with your customers - and the customer is the most important part of your business.
