Tell us about yourself
I am a certified business expansion coach and strategist, prominent national speaker, and best-selling author who has managed to build an entire community of successful business owners. I am the Founder and CEO of Wise, Armstrong and Associates, LLC, a business coaching consulting firm that specializes in helping women in business extend well beyond six figures. My experience speaks for itself: my clients average 60-200% of business growth within 12-24 months of operation. I use my expertise to help clients gain visibility, increase revenue profitability, and improve systems and strategies. My business coaching and consulting is backed by spiritual and biblical principles, which puts me in a niche of my own.
Born and raised in the inner city of Columbus, Ohio to Charles and Jacqueline Wise, two parents who ignited my humble spirit and budding work ethic and showed me how to work hard and how to work smart. They were two hard-working parents that supported my goals and dreams. I graduated in the top 2% of my class from The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business with two business degrees: one in Marketing and the other in Transportation and Logistics. Furthering my education by gaining two certifications in Business Coaching and Executive Coaching. I am the author of ‘Activating Your Gifts: 2nd Edition - 15 Steps To Identify Your Gifts To Prepare for Entrepreneurship.’ My greatest gifts are my faith in God, my husband, Stafford, and two sons, Brandon Charles and Xavier Charles.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Lisa Gutierrez, the owner of Dos Hermanos Food Truck, has been in my coaching program for four years and has grown by a million every year. Breanne Thompson joined my coaching program in June, only earning $20,000 up to that point as an AirBnB Super Host. After working with me for five months, she generated over $100,000 in her business. Acquania Escarne, CEO of Wealth Strategist & CEO of The Purpose of Money, joined my program and had her highest month ever at $16,000. Kitorah Sandy-Forbes, CEO of Kreative Kreations By Kitorah, joined my Business Coaching Program and, in her first month, earned $10,000. Dr. Monica Cox built up the courage to submit a $60,000 proposal to a potential client for a day of workshop. Shar Shanell was able to focus on her niche, and she went from making $0 to $10,000 in a month.
I could honestly go on and on. The accomplishments listed above are why I do what I do. I love working with women in business, seeing them WIN and build their confidence as business owners. Not many people can say they love what they do, but I can. I wake up every morning excited to work with my clients and help them achieve their goals.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Success does not come overnight, and when running a business, you will have peaks and valleys. You must take the time to understand that what you do in the valleys will determine what happens when you are on your mountaintop. Life is not perfect, and neither is business. There are good days, and there are bad days. Learning how to stay focused when things do not look the way that you desire them to look is important. My motto is remember to stay consistent, focused, and accountable to the task. Speaking life over your business, even on the bad days, is a must, and understanding what you believe, you can achieve.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Hire a business coach in the beginning. Do not wait until you have a crisis or you feel like you have enough money to invest in yourself. You will be surprised at what happens when you step out in faith and invest in yourself in the beginning.
- Everyone is not your client. When you are very clear on who your ideal client is, it gives you the ability to speak their language and offer exactly what they need. Many times, business owners do not charge what they should charge because they are not clear on who the ideal client is and what they need. Knowing this allows you to operate in your zone of genius and charge what you should.
- It is important to understand that you cannot build a successful business by yourself. It is important to have a team that supports your goals and vision.
