Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sunni VonMutius, Owner of Wildflower Strategy, located in Orlando, FL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I work with analytically minded people to integrate spirituality and humanity into strategies for life and business. My superpower is making esoteric concepts actionable and integrable, allowing the information you already know to impact your daily experience of life. This happens through online classes, virtual cohorts, workshops, and 1:1 mentorship. People are often attracted to Wildflower Strategy when they're facing a season of transition, be it a career transition, becoming an empty nester, leveling up their business, or becoming newly single.
Tell us about yourself
A juxtaposition of conventional and unconventional corporate shark and mama bear practical application and woo-woo—I take people and businesses to the next level with my unique concoction of metaphysical project management.
My career arch has been unusual. I achieved early success as a corporate technology strategist working for Fortune 100 enterprises. Then I made a bold transition. Following my heart and passion, I began a nomadic lifestyle and pursued mastery in a variety of personal development and spiritual modalities, including ordination as a Minister of Metaphysics. I genuinely love human beings in all our weird complexity.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My career and life have been this beautiful winding path that has allowed me to collect tools, skills, and perspectives along the way. Now I've created a business model where I get to share that with others, spend time daily with other humans, and witness their evolution. It's pretty magical.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Just because we're good at the 'thing' we do (our service, product, etc.) doesn't mean we're good at business. Learning where my own edges and limitations are, taking my own advice around outsourcing, delegating, and staying in my zone of genius, has been challenging at times. It's also been incredibly rewarding to be able to hire and empower others and to build a community around and through my business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Only take advice from those who you'd want to trade places with. Meaning - don't take financial advice from someone who's broke or strategic advice from someone whose business hasn't grown in years.
- Get clear on what you're good at and be honest about what you want to learn vs. what you want to outsource.
- Don't forget to have fun.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
When I say that I love humans, I mean it—all kinds, shapes, and sizes. I create and hold a safe space for all humans of all gender expressions, ethnicities, races, backgrounds, and beliefs - all of it.
