WG MEATBOX is a new and exclusive line of premium, cooked meats. We believe in families sitting down together at the kitchen table more than once a week. We believe in cooking and eating together. We want to make coming together for a meal easy for you! Our MEATBOX comes to your door with quality meats, ready for your family. The meal options for our products are endless, including sandwiches, enchiladas, soups, tacos, hashes, and our beloved Hot Beef Sundae. WG MEATBOX is owned by Iowa natives who have grown up on the farm and want to keep sharing good food and conversation around the family table. We are a family-owned business in the heart of Iowa, were sitting down around the table is still a family tradition. Family is most important, so we treat our customers like they are part of ours.
We sell quality meat we would feed our own families. We make it easy because we understand those busy family schedules, trying to get the kids every which way. We put it at a price point that families can afford. We take special care in creating premium meat products that families can truly enjoy together. We created products the whole family can enjoy because there are so many meals to create! Even those picky eaters will give it a try! We hand select and pack your order to show you we care. Tell us about yourself
WG MEATBOX came to fruition on a late night around our dinner table at the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Our parent company, WG Provisions, is a wholesale business. When the pandemic hit, a lot of our business was lost. We knew we needed to pivot and pivot quickly, so we decided to branch out into direct-to-consumer sales with WG MEATBOX. We have spent over 40 years developing our fully cooked premium meats and knew families would enjoy our products as much as restaurants and foodservice companies have.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Honestly, it's taking care of our team, providing for them and their families. My husband and I grew up on Iowa farms where family and work go together. It's humbling and an honor to support our employees and their families.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
A never-ending to-do list! But seriously, the same as the biggest accomplishment. Taking care of people, our team is the hardest and most rewarding.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find good partnerships to help manage aspects of your business (web developer, IT, etc.)
- Be proactive rather than reactive.
- Having the right team makes all the difference; search out individuals with integrity above all else.
