Tell us about yourself

In my experience working in hospitals and outpatient settings, it became clear that there was a need for treatment that provided greater individualized care. As I began Westport Family Counseling, I became increasingly interested in creating a wellness center that would provide individualized care and meet the needs of a diverse population. My clients motivate me daily to continue maintaining and improving this vision for integrative care.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Westport Family Counseling has been in business for nearly two decades. It is primarily sustained by word of mouth and referrals from other providers who aspire to provide a similar standard of care.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is ensuring that everyone who works for you understands the mission statement and abides by all of the necessary procedures and protocols to ensure you are upholding the vision of the business and providing excellence in service.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you are passionate about the business you are starting.
  2. Make sure the business is linked to a sense of meaning and purpose.
  3. Be prepared to work many hours to ensure you always attend to all of the business needs.
