What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business, Linked Prosperity, is all about prospering through connection, collaboration, giving value, empowerment, teaching, and coaching for the betterment of society and the world. We support women coaches and entrepreneurs in living their purpose and impacting lives through profitable collaborations, high-quality leads, and premium clients. We help them in six areas for maximum success:

  • Gaining clarity
  • Mindset shifts
  • Setting up expert platforms and opportunities
  • Generating leads through collaborations and selling confidently and authentically

Tell us about yourself

I started my coaching business after retiring from the U.S. Navy Band in Washington, D.C. as a clarinetist and was running a business teaching private lessons. After a few years, I knew there had to be something out there where I could make an even bigger impact - which was when I discovered the coaching industry. What makes me motivated each day is watching my clients succeed and knowing I am that much closer to achieving my ultimate goal of creating a global ripple effect of changing the world for the better.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner was establishing my position in the marketplace as a go-to expert after speaking on dozens of stages (podcasts, summits, giveaways, interviews, and featured guest appearances) within nine months.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I believe one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner in the heart-based coaching industry is giving themselves enough credit for their expertise. Many don't take into consideration how valuable their expertise is for the right people, so they don't charge what they are truly worth.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My top three tips for anyone looking to start, run and grow a business:
a. Make sure you love and are passionate about your business and its mission. This will keep you moving forward when you have challenges and bumps in the road....which you will have. If you are passionate, you will keep going without quitting.
b. Find and follow people who are doing well in your industry for two reasons. It will tell you your business is marketable, and you will have mentors you can learn from and model after.
c. As an entrepreneur, you are your own boss. This is great, but you are responsible for structuring your day, staying productive, and being consistent. Without working for someone else that can create that structure, it's all up to you. It is very easy to waste a lot of time and procrastinate, keeping you from reaching the goals you wanted your business to accomplish in the first place. Use productivity tools to help you stay on track.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

My biggest advice is never give up. Hundreds of thousands...even millions of people need what you provide as the expert that you are. They are all missing out without you and your uniqueness. So, learn, be open, take action, and you will succeed!
