What's your business, and who are your customers?
At Wellware, we are committed to creating socially responsible solutions that delight, empower the on-the-go lifestyle, and champion the well-being of people and the planet. That's why we have designed the first customizable & collapsible food storage container system that is eco-friendly.
Tell us about yourself
As a child and teenager, I was overweight, and unfortunately, in sports and in school, he was victimized because of it. That negative experience motivated me to pursue a healthier lifestyle through better eating habits and exercise. However, as I got older, it became more difficult to maintain healthy eating habits alongside a consuming career and on-the-go lifestyle in New York City. Traditional food storage products limited my ability to pack and partake in the wholesome food I prepared in order to balance nutrition and save money. Fast forward a few years, and I decided to leave my career in NYC and pursue my passion for health and wellness while designing the first fully functional food storage system.
Every idea begins with a spark. The spark invigorates us and makes us feel like we can start a fire. Once the fire catches, we know that as long as we feed that fire, we can stay warm. My awesome responsibility is to keep our fire lit so that one day, Wellware becomes a beacon for well-being and warms the world with its continued contributions.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating a tool that allows people to balance nutrition around their individual needs better and appreciating how it has positively impacted the lifestyles of its users.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Everyone and everything depends on you. You have the awesome responsibility of being in a position of leadership, and as a leader, you're accountable for every success and every failure. While there will be more failures than successes, the successes will far outweigh the failures. Stay positive, and don't let failures allow you to lose sight of your purpose.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just start.
- Find a mentor.
- Never stop creating.
