What's your business, and who are your customers?
Wellness from the Womb provides birth doula services supporting and empowering families before, during and after pregnancy, and childbirth through education, birth planning, and advocacy.
Wellness from the Womb also offers mental health services, nanny services, and first aid, CPR, AED training and will soon be offering childcare services through a holistic approach daycare facility focusing on social and emotional intelligence.
Tell us about yourself
I believe that strong mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness begins in the womb. Wellness from the Womb was created to intertwine mental health with maternal health, beginning in utero.
It is my vision to not only build strong children but strong mothers, fathers, and families by incorporating my education and experience in mental health as a psychotherapist and my training as a birth doula to provide families with empowering and enriching individualized birth journeys.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is providing care and holding space for families, empowering them to advocate for themselves during childbirth, and building lasting supportive relationships.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that I have encountered as a business owner is building clientele, especially in the era of social media, keeping up with trends, and marketing.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Start…it doesn’t have to be perfect. Just start and perfect it along the way.
- Be mindful of your own mental and emotional health practice and take time for self-care…find the tribe that supports and uplifts you.
- Know your targeted audience and research. Keep learning and growing.
