Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey by launching a wellness business, but not sure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jennifer Lutenski of Chicago, IL.

What's your business and who are your customers?

My business focuses on bringing a variety of wellness practices - Reiki, Running, Meditation & Yoga to busy women who are in need of stress reduction and relaxation within their day to day lives.

By balancing the multitude of practices that offer the yin/yang balance, my hope is to offer tips and helpful information to clients to lead their most fulfilled lives.

Tell us about yourself

I have always been an active person, with an interest in health and fitness since a young age. As I pursued my corporate career after college, I needed to find ways to manage the stresses in life.

It started initially through group fitness classes, but as my interest in that grew, I wanted to share those experiences with others.

In 2018 I got my first yoga certification, and I have been adding to my arsenal of certifications ever since. As that expanded I developed an interest in more esoteric practices such as Reiki, which has helped me manage stress on a deeper level

By seeing the changes that clients can have from these modalities, I am pushed to continue to spread the message and information about things I've found so much help in.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Partnering with many other business owners to host Reiki training or Reiki Healing Sessions. It is so powerful to see the impact any of these events can have on the attendees!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Trying to balance the challenge of growing your audience beyond your physical location. The internet can be a great place, but showing up consistently can be challenging!

What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Just start! It's better to put something out and update it later than waiting for it to be perfect. Find a network of others to help support/push you, it will be extremely powerful for you and your clients.

If there was one thing you could do repeatedly to help grow your business, what would it be?

Being a guest on blog posts or podcasts to spread the message that I am trying to share with the world.

What are some of the things you put in place to maintain a healthy work/life balance?

Running, Meditation, Reiki, Rest!

Who are some of your favorite entrepreneurs and why?

Emily Merrell - Owner of Six Degrees Society. She is a networking master and has been so helpful in helping me to expand my business.

As far as books go - Atomic Habits, The Road to Recognition.

Six Degrees Society is an amazing networking group for female entrepreneurs as well.
