What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Functional Nutritionist and Fertility Health Coach. My mission is to help and support women struggling with unexplained infertility who want to uncover and address the real reason why the baby they’ve been dreaming about for so long is not happening and help them have perfectly healthy pregnancies and babies.
I do functional investigation work to know exactly what’s behind your fertility struggles and finally bring home that healthy baby without having to turn to fertility treatments as the only option to get pregnant. We work together to regain control over your fertility to maximize the chances of getting pregnant naturally and bring home the healthy baby you’ve wanted for such a long time. I do believe there is no such thing as unexplained infertility. There is always a cause. There is always a why, and we need to find it.
Tell us about yourself
I have struggled with infertility as well in the past. I have actually struggled with many hormonal issues in the past, but no one was ever able to connect the dots and link those hormonal issues to my future infertility. And as many women, all the option I was given was the pill, which helped me a lot in suppressing my symptoms but never really dealt with the underlying condition.
It was my own story, and that led me to go back to school and focus on nutrition so that I can help and support women that are in the same situation I was and empower them to take control of their hormones, live up to their full potential and have healthy pregnancies and babies.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
When I finally decided to quit my investment banking job, go back to school and open my private practice, my goal was to help one woman. If I could help one woman, then I would feel accomplished. It’s been more than four years now, and hundreds of women. Whenever I get a new message, WhatsApp, or email with a positive pregnancy test, I close my eyes and feel immensely grateful. Being able to do what you love every single day and knowing that it has an impact on the world has a different kind of energy.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
For me, the hardest thing was (and sometimes still is) dealing with all the different roles. As a business owner and entrepreneur, you are everything and everyone. You are your own boss, that’s right. But you are the CEO and the CFO. The marketing manager. Human resources. The accountant. The tax advisor. The assistant. The secretary. The operations manager. The sales manager. The social media manager. The content creator… you are everything. And that part is hard. Because you want to focus on what you do best, and at the beginning, you may not have the economic resources to outsource all of the other things. And that isn't easy.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don’t wait to have everything perfect and ready to start. Just start. Today. Get out there and do what you do best.
- Outsource everything you can, and that’s within your possibilities so that you can focus on what you do best. I wish I had learned this sooner.
- Prioritize consistency over perfection.
