What's your business, and who are your customers?

Wellness Choice is a full wellness center specializing in posture correction through corrective and functional aesthetics. Our customers are people looking to age smarter and live pain-free, optimized lives.

Tell us about yourself

I have always been dedicated to my health, coming from a background of athletics and yoga. I decided to become a chiropractor as I knew that there was a more intelligent way to heal yourself than drugs or surgery. After I graduated, I decided to take the leap and purchase an existing chiropractic office on the opposite coast, uprooting my family and where I knew no one. It has been nothing short of an amazing adventure! I love that through our method; we can drastically improve our patients' posture, thus getting them out of pain and staving off the aging process. We are helping our patients both look better AND feel better. This is my motivation.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Taking over a business and further developing and expanding the brand to become even stronger and more profitable while drastically improving patient outcomes.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I never get to shut my mind off; I am always working. But I truly love it and would not trade it for the world.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Intern or shadow various offices to see what they are doing that works, get a mentor and definitely get business coaching both before and while you are in business. I have been through a few coaches since I started as you learn and outgrow them and move on. It is the singular best investment you can make. The success of a business is a direct reflection of the mindset of the business owner. You have to do the work on yourself if you want not just to succeed but truly thrive.

I started my career as a bartender in college in South Beach. My fiancé had brain tumors, and we had an infant at home, so going back to school at the time was not an option. I did not start chiropractic school until I was almost 35, graduated at 39, and then bought my business at 40. It is never too late to chase your dreams! I always knew that I was destined to do something big. I just had to be patient until the time was right. Now I am truly living my dreams! The almost 15 years of bartending made me the people person/multitasker I am, and I am so grateful for this journey.
