What's your business, and who are your customers?

We Edit Podcasts is a podcast production company that provides production services to podcasters. We cover a wide variety of services, such as audio and video production, show notes, transcripts, launch packages, and multiple marketing add-ons. Our customers range from solo podcasters to large corporate companies and anyone looking for assistance with podcasting needs.

Tell us about yourself

I’m a double major Bcom Honors graduate, mom of 2, and Founder/CEO of We Edit Podcasts. When We Edit Podcasts was founded in 2015, I set out to give podcasters back their time while creating high-quality content without the cost. That mission has since blossomed into a thriving company with a multitude of service offerings. The mission never changed; it continuously expanded. WEP continues to educate and support a new generation moving into the podcasting sphere. Watching podcasters grow and succeed in this space motivates me to dream bigger and do better.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I love the team that we’ve built and the family that are We Edit Podcasts. We Edit wouldn’t be what it is today without our amazing team members from all over the world. We’re a fully distributed team of 60+ people living and working in 9 countries around the world. What started with only 6 people in 2015 has grown into a family of editors, writers, marketers, designers, and more.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Managing it all. Making sure the needs of everyone I work with are met, whether that’s team members, clients, or even my own family. Finding that balance to ensure we’re fostering a culture of community and success.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start with yourself - You need to know the ins and out of your company in order for any growth to be able to happen in the future.
  2. The client comes first - if your clients aren’t happy, there’s no way to retain and grow. Happy clients = Successful Company.
  3. Fortify your business to handle an effective marketing strategy.
