What's your business, and who are your customers?

Wallflower Rentals & Decor is a rentals & decor company serving luxury weddings and events in Colorado, Wyoming & Utah. Our customers are anyone looking for vintage and unique rentals & decor, including lounges, tableware, arches, bars, and textiles.

Tell us about yourself

I have always followed my entrepreneurial spirit and looked for opportunities to create and grow through my work. Through many endeavors and projects in the hospitality, events, and catering industry, I was able to form lasting relationships that have transferred to Wallflower and the current family dynamic amongst our staff. The community that we've built here with each other and with our clients is a big part of the allure for me in business ownership. Having the freedom to build something without the restraint of corporate moderation has truly allowed us to grow into the brand I strive for as the owner. From humble beginnings renting pillows and small pieces from my condo to serving elegant events from our warehouse, I am so proud of what we are becoming. Looking to the future, I am excited to continue to grow and truly believe the sky is the limit!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

When Wallflower expanded into our current warehouse, it was a huge achievement for us that meant that we were growing! We were able to broaden our inventory as well as the capacity at which we could serve. But my favorite achievement has been creating a work culture where our employees are excited to come to work and look forward to new opportunities. I love our team!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Managing all the moving parts of our services while making smart business decisions and strategic moves to support our growth can be super difficult. But I have established a solid team that has made that much easier today!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Never give up! There will be hard days and many challenges but just remember that the only way to fail is to stop trying!
  2. Learn to lean into your strengths and delegate your weaknesses. Focus on what you know you're great at and use others' strengths to fill the gaps.
  3. Build relationships and serve your customers from a place of love. Customers are the lifeblood of your business, and taking the time to build those relationships is priceless!
