What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our business is VSaaS (Video Surveillance as a Service), specializing in video management software that connects any new or existing security camera to a platform for users to view, manage and keep their operations secure. We help organizations turn basic cameras smart and connected to the Cloud, with industry-leading pricing and the flexibility to customize the entire platform to their unique needs.

VXG's customers come from Enterprise, Smart Technology, and Security companies to Startups, Retail Analytics and App Developers. Anyone with over 100 surveillance cameras or an app with a video player is a potential customer of ours!

Tell us about yourself

I am the VP of Sales & Marketing at VXG. I am passionate about technology marketing and extremely customer-driven. What motivates me each day is giving users the best quality solutions and trying to achieve the optimal product/market fit. No two days are the same, so what drives me is consistently learning about our customers, technology, competitors, and exploring new markets.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is leading a team of 22 employees and working with incredibly talented individuals every day. I have grown the user base - connecting over 100,000 cameras and tripled the company's revenue in 2 years.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about running a business is not getting too comfortable with your business and the 'status quo.' You always need to evolve and grow with the market and listen to your customers. So sometimes, the hardest thing is not getting 'tunnel vision' and thinking your product/service is perfect. You always need diverse thoughts and a fresh set of eyes to give your customers and the market a high-value offering. The hardest part is standing out in a crowded marketplace. Your marketing message and value proposition must be clear, concise, and convincing and not create more 'noise.'

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Research/Explore, Test, Analyze, Adjust - repeat! Testing the market and analyzing results with consistent metrics are critical to success. You need to continue to adapt to the market and listen to what users are saying. Achieving the optimal product/market fit is vital in today's fast-paced world. Research the competition, take their weaknesses/flaws, and use this as new opportunities to refine your product.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Believe in yourself, always do your best, and take calculated risks!
