Vitality Coach - Renay Roberts
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey by launching a health & wellness business but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Renay Roberts, Founder of Nourish to Live Rx from Toronto, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Registered Functional Nutrition & Vitality coach and founder of Nourish to Live Rx. I work with men and women over 40 who struggle with sleep and have low energy. I provide one-on-one and group coaching, challenges, and wellness workshops using clean eating, self-care, and mindset principles. I help develop healthy habits to gain energy, sleep better, and transition to a healthier lifestyle. I have helped clients change their relationship with food, experience lasting results, and feel amazing!
Tell us about yourself
I worked in the corporate world in technology for over 25 years. After that much time, I realized I had lost my passion. I decided to do some soul searching and discovered my passion was nutrition. About 15 years ago, I was sick... a LOT. After working with a Naturopath, I realized I was intolerant to many types of food. After eliminating the suspect foods, my body could heal itself, and my natural immunity came back strong. That’s when I realized food IS medicine. That’s what motivates me now. I can heal my body (and others) through the power of food, mindset, and habit change.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Learning how to sell myself and being confident that I can help a lot of people.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I never worked in sales and marketing in the corporate world, so I found that the hardest thing to do when running my own business. Clients need to know, like, and trust me as a coach to buy my services, which takes time and practice.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Build your confidence and self-esteem and grow a thick skin. You will need it!
- Niche yourself. You can’t help everyone. Make yourself known in one area of expertise and become very good at what you do.
- Don’t waste your time and money on too much technology in the beginning. You don’t need that much when starting.
