What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a pro-Makeup Artist and Makeup Brand Founder who sees beauty as a tool to empower women to live their best lives. My customers are women of all ages who want simple, effective ways to enhance their daily routine with quality products made in Canada.
Tell us about yourself
I started like many female entrepreneurs do with a passion and hobby that led to bigger fulfillment beyond my imagination. What started as me having an interest in beauty and fashion led to me doing makeup on myself for years before I did it for others. Honing and refining my techniques through self-discovery and pushing the limits led me to want to share my knowledge with others and eventually provide them with products to be their own makeup artist. I believe in simple and effective techniques delivered with quality products.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
It’s been a ride! A journey of many accomplishments and opportunities leading to others.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Definitely, it’s how to scale and employ wisely to help in scaling. As small business owners, we tend to do it all ourselves, and we can’t do that and continue to grow.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Don’t be afraid. Start before you are “perfectly” ready because that time will never come. Trust your passion and judgment. If you love something, there is a very high chance others will love it too. And finally, pay attention to your customers and what they respond well to and what they don’t.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Females who support small female entrepreneurs are the very best, most loyal type of customer. I’m so grateful to them for their support of my brand and me!
