What's your business, and who are your customers?

Awesome Healing Acupuncture is a wellness center offering complementary and alternative health care services, both in-person and virtual, to promote health and well-being. In-person services include acupuncture, NAET (Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques), nutritional assessment, and recommendations. Virtual Services include Biofield Balance Intuitive Assessment, Energy Balancing, Universal Rays Energy Healing Method, Soul Path Evaluation, online classes, and events such as Tai Chi Chih moving meditation and guided meditation. Our customers are people who want the opportunity to improve their health, transform their lives, promote balance, achieve their goals, and enjoy life fully.

Tell us about yourself

I am a Licensed Doctor of Oriental Medicine in New Mexico and a Licensed Acupuncturist in California. I am also a 2X International Best Selling Author of "Unlocking Your Super Life" and "It is Done!." In addition, I am an Energy Healing Practitioner, intuitive reader, and an accredited Tai Chi Chih teacher. It is my goal to educate and empower my patients and clients to achieve optimum health, maximize their full potential, and enjoy their best life.

At one point in my life, I experienced "the darkest night of the soul," where I had suicidal thoughts due to overwhelming adversities, including my son's health and mine. My frustration with Western Medicine prompted me to discover alternative health care such as Acupuncture and NAET. Both therapies helped improve our health. This led me to return to school, pass the board exams and change my career from Computer Science to Oriental Medicine. I am motivated to see my patients, clients, and students smile and express their positive experiences.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is creating a meaningful impact on the lives of the people I serve and contributing to the community. Therefore, I donate the proceeds of my book "Unlocking Your Super Life – a Guide to a Healthier and Happier You" to Roadrunner Foodbank of New Mexico to help feed hungry kids and adults.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things as a business owner is managing time wisely. Creating time for self-care and family while continuously innovating my business and expanding my services. So taking care of myself is part of my routine to recharge my battery and be an effective care provider and business owner.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a positive mindset. It is vital to believe in yourself and have a support group with like-minded people to help you manifest your purpose in life.
  2. It is essential to be flexible and adaptive. If the product or service is not working, you can modify your strategies or change them. Don't be afraid to fail. Learn from your mistakes. See them as opportunities to grow and get closer to achieving your goals.
  3. Take care of yourself to enjoy the fruits of your labor. "Good health is wealth." It is an investment and not an expense.
