Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in life coaching, but not sure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Frances Hickmott of Frances Found, based in Canada.
What's your business and who are your customers?
As a speaker, author and mentor my business focuses on self leadership and connecting people to their values and life vision.
Tell us about yourself
I was ready to use my talents and interests more than what my work-life until then allowed me to do. I wanted to do it in a way that would inspire others to see their potential to live life with more joy and meaning.
To continue my work effectively means challenging myself to walk the talk. Know my values, dream big and keep stepping up to see what and how else I can serve.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I've written a book.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Staying motivated when you're waiting for the return of your efforts.
What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Ensure you have another source of income to pay the bills - it takes 3-5 years to establish your business.
Surround yourself with other business owners, because you'll need the emotional and knowledgeable support that non-business owners lack.
Give yourself permission to be imperfect and a beginner.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
There's lots of ideas about what business success looks like, I think it's really important that people are clear what success is for them, so they don't get sucked into something that doesn't align with who they are.
