Effective Responsive Learning - V School
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Mo Reeder, Co-Founder and COO of V School, located in Salt Lake City, UT, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
V School is a mastery (not time) based educational platform that helps launch successful careers in tech.
Tell us about yourself
I've been in education my entire 15-year career. Changing lives and breaking down barriers that impede dedicated folks from landing amazing careers in tech is what gets me up in the morning every day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a bootstrapped start-up, we still continue to gift about 1M in technical scholarships to underserved populations, year over year.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
There's always something else to do, something about to break, etc. I have a hard time disconnecting from the business and taking the time to reset/recharge.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't ask your employees to do something you're not willing to do/demonstrate yourself.
- Ask yourself - do you really need to raise capital? And can you do what you need to do without outside assistance?
- Do the research. Is your product, service, or business unique, needed, fundable, exciting, etc.?
