What's your business, and who are your customers?
Unscrambled By Erin, LLC is a professional organizing business that focuses on the mental health benefits of being organized. I work with people who are overwhelmed and need a little help getting their homes under control.
Tell us about yourself
My motivation for doing what I do has the ability to change someone's life. Every time a client tells me that the work we've done has reduced their stress level or made their life easier, I know I'm in the right business.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I started Unscrambled with a selfie for a headshot and a rough idea, and two years later, I have a polished business. I've grown as an organizer and a business owner, and I'm proud to look back and see how far I've come.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I started my journey without any real experience running a business, and I had to figure things out as I went along. My education in psychology did not teach me what an LLC is!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
My top three tips for people starting their own business are:
- Don't be afraid to ask for help.
- Be careful how you invest in marketing.
- Embrace imperfection and even failure.
