Unleash Your Inner Rock-Star! - Unleashed Designs

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in jewelry but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Johanna A. Latzo, founder of Unleashed Designs LLC., located in Daytona Beach, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We have a Jewelry & Clothing business where we travel across the USA to the largest motorcycle rallies and concert events. Living the Rockstar life, without the band!

Tell us about yourself

I got laid off from corporate America and answered an ad for a salesgirl for Daytona Bike week in 2010. After eight months with that company, I started my own, and two years in, I met my husband, and together we grew this more than I ever imagined.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Beating my own sales records year after year.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Hiring quality employees that have the flexibility to travel, with no commitments at home.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get separate bank accounts and religiously divide your money in 3: Fixed expenses, growth, and only pay yourself a 1/3.
  2. Always ask for a discount from your suppliers- Even free shipping.
  3. If you have good employees, take care of them because they will care for your business. Give them a cut of the profits, so they feel involved.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

It's been a very nice run. In order to create wealth, diversify!
