What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is executive coaching with an emphasis on healing trauma for greater success, both professionally and personally. My clients are women and men who are already successful but can’t seem to reach the next level of empowerment they desire.
Tell us about yourself
At the age of nineteen, I was homeless, pregnant, and forced to live in my car. During that time, I learned that personal power is the key to success. Through the teaching of Napoleon Hill, along with my own faith in positive thinking, I turned my life around. What motivates me each day is knowing that I have the tools to help people change their lives, and my purpose is to share them with as many people as possible.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment so far is my Behind the Power project. It’s an annual live event drawing in those who are ready to make massive shifts in their lives. Live events are an opportunity for us to expand and connect in ways that aren’t possible over Zoom. It’s an event I look forward to hosting every year.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
For me, one of the most challenging parts of being a business owner is making self-care the top priority. Without being intentional, it’s very tempting to sit behind my desk 24/7 creating and planning. While that is great for professional development, it’s not so great for personal fulfillment.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be intentional about what you want to share with your audience. This helps you stay original and impactful.
- Have systems in place, even if it’s just you starting out. Have a standard operating procedure manual and adjust it as you grow your team.
- Connect. Connect. Connect. Go to meetups, retreats, workshops, and networking events and be seen and heard.
