What's your business, and who are your customers?
Umbrella Ship Entertainment and wellness is an event production company that facilitates integrated Entertainment, Wellness, and Team Building experiences for corporate clients. We provide services to companies looking to enrich their teams' overall well-being and camaraderie through play and mindfulness.
Tell us about yourself
I have been a theatrical circus performer/artist/wellness practitioner for the past 20 years and found that these modalities have a powerful capacity to enrich people's lives. Creativity is integral to personal wellness, and play is a wellspring for profound connection and motivation. Every day I step into the office, I know the work I am doing can enrich people's lives and inspire them to be more passionate and daring.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been turning my creative ideas into a commercially viable experience that nourishes the souls of others as much as it nourishes mine. When I see people's eyes light up as they find themselves in states of joy and grounded in the present moment while participating in our events, I feel grateful for our mutual accomplishments.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest part of being a business owner is remaining resolute and courageous in pursuing your dream. The fear of failure is daunting and omnipresent but overcoming these challenges feeds the soul in ways nothing else can.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Start now, journal daily, focusing only on your accomplishments and moments of growth, have fun, and be creative, innovative, daring, and forgiving to yourself and others.
