Anyone who owns a mobile phone or just wants to be safe is now available everywhere they go. Tell us about yourself
I tend to think of myself as a visionary and marketing guru with a track record in long-term market strategies and building high-performance executive teams. I have led sophisticated platforms with product and service organizations with large market penetrations. From being a Doctor to an Entrepreneur, I focus on operational excellence while planning and delivering growth strategies designed to improve market share. In today's fast-paced world, I still believe in strong, lasting relationships as they are the forefront of my present business endeavors, current and future partners, and each and every customer.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Graduating with a Medical Degree in Chiropractic and owning/operating a private practice in my 30s was something I never thought I would complete, let alone grow to a well-known clinic. One thing that does not slow down is time. No matter what you are doing, it will go by faster than you think or know. So make every day count as it was the best day of your life, no matter what is going on in your life. Tomorrow will always come, and as you figure out in life, the time gets faster as you get older. I am so very proud of accomplishing something that was scary in the beginning and became routine as I learned every role in the business., This alone has made my endeavors moving forward that much more fruitful and in a similar space when it comes to health. "After accomplishing something so difficult, anything is possible."
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
At the end of the day, you are responsible for everything day in and day out. You must learn what works and what does not and how to manage people or the moving parts that affect your productivity. One must also understand the pain points and interactions of every job or step. This will allow you to fix or tweak things as they come up, and you will be prepared for it. Some of us learn fast, while others, it may take a few times to fall down before we pick ourselves back up. This is what makes each and every one of us stronger and more efficient with time management. "One thing I have learned is that it always takes more time." This is sometimes hard to accept, as we live in such a fast-paced environment. However, to make it right, we must focus on doing it to the best of our capacity and availability.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Meet everyone you can and share your passion with them! More importantly, it is your story telling that got you to where you are today; it is what will sell your idea, product, or passion. People resonate with others that can see your vision. Make sure you are well funded, as it always takes more money and it always takes more time. Be resilient yet patient as you will figure it out. Just take "Action" and go for it. Lastly, have a well-thought-out plan and write it down with milestones and goals while being laser-focused on the big picture. If you can't explain it in 10 words or less, it's probably too complicated and will be harder to explain. I try to live by this saying and ask people this question a lot, and I ask you the same thing. "What's more important in your life than what you have right here, right now?" (Nothing) Don't put off tomorrow what you can do today. Lastly, my father always told me...."The harder you work, the luckier you will get." I live by this daily.
