What's your business, and who are your customers?

As a Career Transition Coach, I guide mid-career women through career changes and reentry into the workforce.

Tell us about yourself

Oddly enough, I first got into coach because I had an unsatisfactory experience with a career coach. I figured I could do better and eventually graduated from a 2-year training program. My clients’ successes and growth motivate me. Few things make me happier than hearing that a client landed a great job or had a moment of self-realization.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is my clients’ success. I love seeing them gain confidence and start becoming their best selves.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things is staying motivated when things are rough. At some point, everyone thinks about quitting but sticking with it and adapting is almost always worth it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get very clear on who you serve and what you’re serving them. Make sure what you’re offering relieves a pain point of theirs.
  2. Figure out and remember why you want to start a business. You’ll need to lean on that motivation when things get tough.
