Established in 2017, Turner Group is one of the most respected companies working with prestigious organizations such as Amazon, Service Now, Box, Splunk, Alteryx, Atlassian, Biogen, and more. We provide services such as technical & event consulting, drafting, technical crewing, project management, technical budgeting, virtual events, and streaming, and more. We provide them to clients and events all over the world. With over 200 diverse events and counting, Turner Group has partnered with companies big, small, and everything in between. We bring quality, well-executed, and budget-conscious precision to each client we work with.

Tell us about yourself

My husband and I have been in the event industry for over 30 years. We love the constant change in venue and clients, the fast-paced environment, bringing our customer's vision to life, and making an impact on those who attend the events.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

One of our biggest accomplishments is the frequent flow of repeat clients and referrals. Our clients love our work so much that they use us on multiple projects yearly. They also love to refer us to other people they know. This shows how much we care for our clients and the value we provide them.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Finding the balance between growing your business and also still having a personal and family life.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get and stay organized. If this is not something you can do on your own, hire someone to help. It might be fine to be disorganized when you're just starting, but as you grow, this can crash your business. This includes your finances, procedures, etc.
  2. Set clear boundaries with your clients from the start. If you don't have any rules or boundaries, clients will take advantage of you, and they are a lot harder to implement later on in the relationship.
  3. Treat everyone who works for you well. Pay them a fair wage (even contractors), let them know you appreciate their work, and give constructive feedback often.
