What's your business, and who are your customers?

Truly Alchemi is a woman-owned boutique business that designs and handcrafts candles and goods. With sustainability in mind and with the utmost quality, our products are both affordable and luxurious. Our minimal and sophisticated handmade candles, wax melts, and bath salts are sure to make a statement and reflect modern-day elegance, making every product timeless. We provide products that are safe for everyone, from your plants to your fur babies. Our customers are looking to elevate their space beautifully and fill their homes with more than the fragrance, but an aroma that celebrates warmth invites confidence and creates memories.

Tell us about yourself

I started Truly Alchemi in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic. My goal has always been to create safe and sustainable products to support our well-being and express my creativity and passion through my art. /al•che•my/ is the process of taking something ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary. That is my inspiration for each product I create. It's a one-woman show here, everything from the scent story to handcrafting each item to marketing and packing each order. I look forward to continuing to meet amazing people in the small business world and sharing my creations with the community.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The most rewarding part about being a business owner is being able to fulfill my passion for aromatherapy and handcrafted goods while promoting eco-conscious living. I love that I am able to provide sustainable and clean products to my community.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things you'll have to face as a business owner is uncertainty. There are so many variables, and every day there will be new challenges and obstacles to deal with. Business is never predictable, no matter how prepared you are. With that being said, running a business takes a lot of time, effort, and patience, but it's worth it if you love what you do.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Create a vision and define where you want your business to go.
  2. Be patient with yourself! It takes time for any business venture to take off, so don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen right away.
  3. Don't be afraid to make mistakes; they're how you learn!
