Luxury at First Scent - Trillion Candle
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in candle-making but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sanaz Aghachi, founder of Trillion Candle, located in Los Angeles, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I have a luxury candle company that is coconut-soy-based wax. I have a more affordable line with two different sizes. I have jewelry candles containing a 14k gold 0.07ct diamond necklace inside. There are eight divine fragrances to choose from, all while enjoying without worrying about any toxic chemicals or GMOs being released (because of the natural wax)
Tell us about yourself
I started in 2015 as just an idea and was trying to bring my idea to life. I have made so many modifications until I found the formula of what sells, works, and what people want/like. What motivates me is the feedback I hear from consumers and the urge to make this company as successful as I can because I have been working on it for so many years.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Maximizing my time to make sure my company is a success. Throughout the years of trying to perfect my craft, a lot of people would tell me to change careers or do this or do that, but that would get me more motivated to prove to myself that I would make this work. And I did.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Not making money. Your hustle can always be there. Your drive, energy, and hard work can always be there, but the money won't. Some days you'll kill it, and some days you'll come out 0. That is business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Maximize your time. Sleep is 8 hours. What are you doing for the rest of the 16 hours?
- Push through the hard times, no matter how difficult. That's the difference between you and a billionaire. The billionaire is willing to push through the hard times.
- Keep your ideas/success to yourself. People will try to tell you it won't work, and people will try to use you when they see it's working. be low-key and quiet until you're so successful there's no way of dodging you
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I know the classic 'never give up is so played out, but if I didn't keep the 'keep going, the success would come' mantra in my head, I seriously don't know what I would be doing.
