What's your business, and who are your customers?

Tori-Lou Candle Co. is a small business that I started during the pandemic. We were all at home, and I wanted to make the most of our time and turn the mundane into the extraordinary. I found that peace through candles. The smell, the glowing light, cracking of the wick appeased every sense. It was magic that was not only pretty, but I wanted it to be quality, non-toxic, and clean to burn. That way, you have peace of mind and can enjoy every burn.

Tell us about yourself

My name is picked from a childhood nickname my late father gave me. It gives me a warm feeling knowing I am carrying him with me on my adventures today.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Etsy shop, social media, craft fairs, and events. I am amazed I learned how to cultivate it all from scratch online. There are so much potential these days.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Finding time management and scheduling time off.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Find your passion, it will come to you naturally. And when you get that feeling, it's your purpose in this world. If yours happens to be an art or product to enhance others' lives, put everything into it. Follow your dreams. Why not you?
