What's your business, and who are your customers?

"I teach you how to trade," - and I am passionate about Trading. As an independent Trader, international Speaker, as well as bestselling author, and Trader-Coach, I am traveling the world and working wherever I want. For me, this is the ultimate freedom, and I love to help people to live the life they really want and accomplish their dreams. Saying that my customers are, in general, people who understand that they are responsible for their life and want to learn the skills that enable them to lead a fully independent life.

Tell us about yourself

It all started with the burning desire for independence and financial freedom. Once I started my journey as a trader, I realized that a trader has to overcome a lot of misbeliefs and hazardous behavior. So, I began to write about my ideas and speak about my experiences - the good and the bad ones. Not long after my start, people began to approach me, asking me to teach and coach them. While I was more and more successful in Trading, speaking, and as an author, I began to show myself internationally on a voluntary basis in the International Federation of Technical Analysts and found myself after a few months as their president.

While I am financially free, I can travel the world, meet interesting people and make new friends. I also get invited to international financial conferences around the globe, which enables me to travel even more. And this is what motivates me the most every day (even the tough ones): I am blessed to help people find the path to their own freedom while I am traveling the world, having stunning experiences everywhere. What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a business owner, especially as a Solopreneur, it is most necessary to be well organized and disciplined. Lucky, these are some of my inner strengths. But - success doesn't come overnight. It needs to be earned, and the market and the people put you to the test every single day. It needs persistence and a strong belief in your own skills to keep going. Once I made the decision to commit myself to Trade, teaching, and traveling, I didn't need to kick doors anymore. I was showing people the possibilities life offers, and all of a sudden, all the doors were wide open, ready for me to walk through.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As a business owner, you need to make decisions on your own. They might be wrong or right - but you need to decide. By doing this, you also have to live with the consequences. There is no one else to blame but yourself. Too few customers? - Do more sales and marketing. Too little money? - Make more. Bad products? - Make better ones. There is no one taking over responsibility but yourself. But for me, this is also the key. I love this for sure.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You need a solid idea - not a perfect one - of what you really want to do.
  2. Make sure that you have liquidity for some months without needing revenue and clients.
  3. Stay as independent as possible. The more you can decide (not make!) on your own, the better.

It is your business and your life. Make sure it stays that way.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

As an entrepreneur, you need to be passionate about what you do. As a trader, I got kicked so many times by the market; as an entrepreneur, I am used to hearing some "no's" once in a while. This is part of the game. If you really love what you do, you will continue with ease. If you have doubts, you will quit. This is the key.
