Tell us about yourself

My desire to build TWE came from my own experience. I was struggling with a bout of depression and had very low self-esteem, but when I started exercising, specifically lifting weights, I noticed a huge shift in my mental state and soon after in the way I felt about myself. I started to incorporate mindfulness practices into my workouts as well, and that's when I discovered the holistic side of it. I knew I wanted other people, specifically women, to feel this way too, and that's why I decided to start teaching it. I am driven by the desire to help others and serve my community as best as I can. I love the thought that people feel better thanks to something I helped them do or motivated them to do.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is honestly continuing to try new things and being willing to fail. I've had many things just flat-out fail on me, but I continue to strive forward and take the learnings and apply them to the next thing. I am relentless, and I refuse to give up! :)

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Decisions, decisions, decisions... Decision fatigue! Sometimes you just want someone to help you decide or to tell you what to do, but as a business owner, we have to make so many decisions daily, and there are times that it feels exhausting for me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Three tips I'd give someone looking to start are:

  1. Create processes early on that keep you organized and save you time. Processes also allow you to add to the team if and when you are ready.
  2. Don't get distracted by the low-hanging fruit. Keep your big picture in mind and take steps that make sense with this in mind.
  3. Guidance and council are so important but always trust YOUR intuition first and foremost!
