MindBody Ops - Tim Sinnett
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Tim Sinnett, Founder of MindBody Ops, located in Boulder, CO, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
MindBody Ops has many facets, but underneath it all, the goal is to empower people and give them the agency to become the best version of themselves in all circumstances. People who know their purpose and who are committed to doing their own version of "good" in the world are what it is going to take to change the world for the better.
Tell us about yourself
Like most people, my life has had numerous twists and turns and setbacks, but if you can hold what is most important to you as your "north star," you can make a tremendous impact in the world. I am motivated to be the best version of myself that I can be so that I can assist others in doing the same.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My "biggest accomplishment" is every single client or friend who has benefited from something I have said or done because the ultimate goal is for them to be inspired to find their own unique path in the world.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Everyone feels great about positively contributing to the world, but does it pay your bills, as well? That's the most difficult thing about being a passionate business owner doing your heart's/soul's work and still making enough to live in a way that doesn't lead to stressing out in the material economy that we live in.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
One, I am not a huge advocate of just jumping 100% in and "burning the boat." Total commitment is a great concept, but it might be better not to put so much pressure on your passion. Give yourself some time to test and grow your business. Two, it's awesome that you have a great idea, but will people pay for it? Try to line up your passion with a genuine needs analysis. Otherwise, you are going to be an amazing person with amazing things to share that nobody wants to listen to. Three, as a direct contradiction to #1, once you are on your way and people are responding to your message, commit to it.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I have been self-employed in some fashion or other for almost 20 years. There are times when it is SO HARD, and you question why you are doing it all. There are other times when it is the greatest thing ever. In the end, it is so satisfying to be your own boss and to spend your life force on things you find meaningful.
