Tell us about yourself
Becoming trained as a FranklinCovey facilitator and a Gallup strengths-performance coach and then having the chance to run the Strengths-Based Leadership Institute early in my career awakened me to the power of increased self-awareness and how essential it is for success in all aspects of life. I have dedicated my life to helping individuals and businesses activate their greatest potential and use their gifts and talents to solve the problems of the world.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Our business didn't just survive two recessions and a global pandemic; it thrived despite the downturn in the economy and willingness to invest in growing people. From tiny beginnings in a small town in northern Minnesota to working in Fortune 10 companies, spreading to more than 66 countries across the globe, and developing cutting-edge career pathing, strengths leadership development programs, and a validated strengths assessment, Thrivin - supported by People Acuity products - has become a significant up-and-coming player shaping the future of work on our planet.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Managing the many varied and complex components of building an international business on a shoestring and with limited resources have proven to be very challenging.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Let your pain fuel your passion and deepen your commitment (rather than demoralize you).
- Create from interdependence with others who share your vision and who will barter with you to create shared success.
- Be a true servant of others, always with an eye toward lifting and bettering others through the process of creating your business and bringing your product/services to the world.
