Tell us about yourself
Greetings. My name is Kevin L. Ball; leveraging a thirty-year plus career in broadcast communications, teaching public speaking skills to MBA students, and executive coaching, I have a passionate belief that improving human behavior is the key to solving problems and providing value. I decided to form a company where I could share my experiences and continue learning. I operate with a curious, empathetic, and active listening mindset that leads to better outcomes for people who look to improve their emotional intelligence and business and personal skills. I routinely wake up every day between 5:00-5:30 AM and think about better ways to reach people by reviewing problem statements, reading materials researching, and developing techniques that people can relate to. Moreover, accomplished by meeting people where they are during the initial contact and through the engagement.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Launching my business with the simple idea of helping people. That took a lot of courage, especially when it came to gaining trust. I am humbled and grateful when a client returns for further engagement and then recommends me to people in their network. Consequently, I have built a steady pipeline of clients and followers.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I would say securing your first contract. As I mentioned earlier, gaining trust is difficult, and it can be easily broken. Equally important is ensuring that your clients walk away with their desired outcomes and feel that you are with them throughout the journey.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
First, start with what you are enthusiastic about that does not take effort. Second, think about what fulfills you, then identify and align yourself with the audience that requires your offering. Finally, be diligent about being involved in learning communities and building your network of thought leadership. In addition, leverage social media and technology that fits your purpose. Altogether, individuals and interactions are the keys to success.
