What's your business, and who are your customers?

I believe that it's possible for people to love what they do, but often times we end up in jobs at companies that aren't the right fit. We grow out of where we started, stay complacent, and sacrifice wellness for a paycheck. It doesn't have to be that way.

My primary focus is on helping mid-career women find more fulfillment at work. Through my workshops, coaching, and group experiences, I create space for women to discover who they are and what they want most and help them connect with others on the same path.

Through speaking and coaching, I give women the confidence to shine their truest, best light on the world. I believe that if women stepped into their power and believed in their gifts and abilities, the world would be changed. I give them permission to shine. I help them see who they are, what they love, and how they want to be.

Tell us about yourself

After working in the same corporation for 25 years, I decided to take my passion for leadership development, speaking, facilitating, and coaching out into the world. My business was born about 5 minutes before Covid landed. I did not see that coming. Gratefully, I had already been doing leadership development workshops virtually and was already prepared. I love being in the room with a group, but the pivot to virtual work has allowed me to touch many groups and people globally during a time when we all really needed it.

I am motivated every day to inspire others to act in the direction of their dreams. To believe in what's possible and to be the one that helps them get there. Whether it's in a group, 1:1, or through social media, my goal is to support women in believing in themselves, overcoming fear and self-doubt, and taking back their power.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Every time I have the opportunity to be on stage as a speaker in front of a large audience, I feel the power and impact of my purpose the most. It is my gift to create a safe place for people to see themselves in a new way, learn and grow. I do this through authentic story-telling, humor, and connection.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

There are so many ups and downs to being a solopreneur. It's a true test of emotional resilience, risk-taking, and perseverance. It can be hard to stay focused, motivated, and driven to keep going. My driving force is my desire to help women step up and into their light. I will ride that energy for as long as I can.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

This work requires passion and drive. It requires that fire that burns. This is the energy that keeps you moving forward. It's a fire that never goes out.
Get all the help from coaches, fellow entrepreneurs, and therapists...this work will have a dark side, but all the healing only makes you better for your client.
Be very careful with the "shoulds." You can spend a lot of money on what you think you "should" do. Follow your gut and heart, don't say 'yes' to anything that doesn't feel right for you. Find your own way and use others' experiences to help guide you. There is more than one way.
