What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is The Frosting Fairy, and we are baking the world a magical place by helping people celebrate with our custom cookies and sweets.
Tell us about yourself
I am a graduate of Johnson & Wales University, where I studied Baking & Pastry Arts and Food Service Entrepreneurship. I have had a love for sweets ever since I was little. I enjoy seeing the joy on our clients' faces when they see their completed treats and love when they come back for their next event. Seeing people grow is so amazing, and I love that we are able to be part of their celebrations.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We were able to be a part of the Euphoria Festival in 2022, which was amazing!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is the amount of work. If you think being a business owner is easy, think again. You have to wear ALL the hats and know the ins and outs of every role in the business. Having a business is hard work, but if it is something you are passionate about, you can make it happen.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't be afraid to ask for help and ask questions. We all started from somewhere, and the more information you can learn, the better.
- Don't give up. Being a business owner is tough. There are highs and lows, and you have to be willing to ride the wave.
- Have fun with it. It has to be something you enjoy so you can sustain and grow the business long-term.
