What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Wine Counselor® provides entertaining and educational classes and programs designed to be fun and engaging. Whether it's a corporate, association, or private event, I will customize your program to meet your needs. You will learn and laugh while having a great time tasting!

Tell us about yourself

As a college student in Santa Barbara, California, I fell in love with wine. After practicing law for many years, I started my business as my encore career. When a client experiences the "aha" moment when tasting wine or spirits, it's so very gratifying!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Exceeding my client's expectations. Whether it's an intimate private tasting to a college-level culinary program to presenting for a corporate client, asking me to return is the best compliment.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a one-person business owner, keeping all my "ducks in a row" while developing a new business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know your product/service better than your competition.
  2. Sweat the small stuff.
  3. Never, never, ever give up.
