Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kimmye Bohannon, Founder of The Weekly Juicery, located in Lexington, KY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

At The Weekly Juicery, we help our clients Chase Good Health! We are a national organic juice company with courses about fasting and chasing good health. We run a monthly community fast called The Juice Ritual. We send a curated juice shipment to our client's doorstep and give them access to our online courses to learn all about how to incorporate juice into their health routine.

Tell us about yourself

I started The Weekly Juicery in 2012 in my kitchen because I wanted my friends to experience the power of high-quality organic juice. I had been making my own juice at home for months and noticed a transformation beyond my wildest expectations. I knew I needed to share this with others and make it easy for them to get juice and learn how to use it. I'm motivated each day by our ability to change the trajectory of someone's health and life. It's a movement that matters. We can grow younger from the inside out, and I love teaching people how to do it!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Gosh, that's a tough one. I would say transitioning our business online with national shipping is probably the biggest thing we've done. I'm really proud of our team for figuring out all the logistics needed. We worked closely with the packaging engineer for over a year to develop a solution to get juice shipment to our client's doorsteps to keep juices cool without freezing. Now we ship juice to doorsteps all over the USA. I would have never dreamed that was possible.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Keeping your perspective at 10,000 feet. It's easy to get caught in the weeds day to day. And, things go wrong. It just happens. It's tough to deal with the problems as they come and not let them diminish the light of your vision. I work on this one daily.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Anything is possible. Anything. You don't have to know the how. Just start with a small step.
  2. Know when to persevere. Sometimes you have to dig in and see it through.
  3. Know when to pivot. Sometimes you pivot. Not quit, pivot. There is always a profitable pivot.
