What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Vice is a winery that makes exceptional Napa Valley wines accessible. Our consumers are very diverse and spread equally across all age groups, from Legal Drinking Age Gen Z to Baby Boomers.

Tell us about yourself

My vice for Napa Valley wines pushed me to create The Vice. What motivates me daily to do what I do is my commitment to provide the next generation with better opportunities than the ones I was given.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner was creating The Vice when I was working two jobs and building The Vice over time into an international wine brand.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things for any business owner is to keep the business cash flow positive at all times. Capital is as much needed during times of fast growth as slow times.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Believe that you will succeed and nurture that belief daily.
  2. Accept that entertainment, social and family time will become minimal or may no longer exist.
  3. Surround yourself and seek advice from other business owners.
